I was determined not to miss another Serenity Circle blog post but at the same time I was feeling a little uninspired. The local children had all returned to school so I knew it would be lovely and quiet if I was to visit a garden but I was struggling to get excited by the idea of shooting more flowers. Don’t get me wrong I love my flowers but there are days when I just don’t feel inclined to shoot them.
So with just one free day in the week and the weather looking promising I decided to head off for a garden and see what I could create if looked beyond the flowers. With my trusty Helios 44-2 and shooting wide open for some lovely bokeh I decided to see if I could find some beauty and interesting in the more ordinary details of a garden.
The promising weather didn’t last but luckily the rain was short lived and added interest to some of the images. And it turns out that slowing down to really search for something beyond the flowers is a very relaxing and therapeutic experience.
