Recently I’ve been struggling for motivation with my photography. I sometimes feel like I’m shooting purely to feed my social media and once that feeling kicks in I find myself totally uninspired. So this month I didn’t expect to be sharing anything for the Serenity Circle but inspiration suddenly struck while I was doing my food shopping! I spotted a small pack of blueberries that were about to go out of date and were half price and I remembered a little project I started to shoot a while ago but never came back to. ‘Past It’s Best’ is a photographic celebration of fresh items that supermarkets are selling as out of date but still have plenty life in them.
Once inspiration strikes I can easily lose an hour or two shooting still, I get so engrossed that time flies by. Still life photography is my way of completely switching off to all the endless things that need to be done and simply enjoying the process of creating.
All images are taken with the Lensbaby Velvet 56, some have textures added which can be found in The Texture Shop.
Next up in the Serenity Circle is Lori McLellan, a fine art photographer in Calgary AB. You can find Lori’s post here, please continue around the circle for more inspiration.
