Halloween Still Life – Lensbaby Blog Circle

October 31, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

For some reason I’ve managed to be away from home at the last two month ends so I’ve missed out on the Lensbaby Blog Circle. Obviously I can post from anywhere but this year I’ve been making the effort to be offline as much as possible if I’m away from home. Social media can feel a little relentless when you are self employed so it’s healthy to take short breaks from it, even if its only two or three days.

So I didn’t want to miss a third month in a row but I must confess I’ve been struggling for inspiration. I tried an autumn walk but, beautiful as my surroundings were, I only took a handful of boring images! I’m sure we all have outings like that but they can feel frustrating. The other day I’d picked up a cheap plastic Halloween skull from the supermarket so I decided to shoot some dark still life images for this month’s post.

All were shot with the Lensbaby Velvet 85 using natural light, the top image was shot wide open to add extra glow and softness.

Next up in the blog circle is Carol Vipperman, please click here to hop over to her post and continue around the circle.
