Lensbaby Blog Circle November – By The Sea

November 30, 2018  •  Leave a Comment

I was so organised this month and shot the blog circle images right at the beginning of the month, it seems like ages ago now! I actually had a little panic the other day when I realised we were almost at the end of the month, I’d been so organised that I’d forgotten I already had shot something for the circle.

I very nearly didn’t bother driving out to the coast, the weather was a bit grey, I hadn’t been sleeping due to a shoulder problem and I didn’t feel all that inspired. But I gave myself a good talking to, got in the car and headed off to Formby, and I was so glad I did. When I arrived the light was soft and hazy, it was almost misty but not quite, there was hardly anyone around and it was lovely to just walk along the beach for a couple of miles enjoying the fresh air and open space. Winter is my absolute favourite time to be by the sea.

I’ve very much fallen into a habit of reaching for one of the Velvet lenses as soon as I get my camera out, I keep telling myself I should shoot with the others more often but the Velvets always win.

Not this time though…

Due to my shoulder problems I really wanted to keep the weight at a minimum (my camera is already heavy) so I took just the Edge 50 and Sweet 80. I was constantly swapping optics and I do have one or two images where I wasn’t quite sure which one I’d used but most of the ones below are the Edge 50. The three textured images use textures from my own collections.

Next up in the blog circle is Carol with her wonderful Seattle skies – please head over there and follow the links through the rest of the circle, it’s a little smaller this month but definitely worth visiting them all!
